After so much time apart, I do have tons of food pictures from dining out in Jakarta. Instead of doing reviews of each dish, I'll just do an overall comment at the end of each restaurant. And in general, I just want to say that Jakarta is definitely a great place for foodies. Prices are really affordable, service is always impeccable, decor and ambience great and food is good too. What you pay in an average eatery in Sydney, you can spend here in a pretty classy restaurant. It's a good deal.
First up is Scusa, an Italian Restaurant:
Garden salad
Roasted eggplant
Crisp pan fired barramundi
Osso bucco with risotto
Veal with spinach linguine
Lamb chops with potato mash
Semifreddo with fruits and mint sauce
Cannoli with creme brulee
Chocolate fondant with creme anglaise
Overall, Scusa was a great dining experience. Food is always presented nicely and the waiter was so friendly ! He even gave us a complimentary lamb cutlet as well as 2 extra creme brulees. Food came without much need to wait, lighting was a little dark but that's about all I can say.

I LOVE this restaurant to bits. My cousins introduced me to the place and two days after that, I brought my family here too. Finding authentic, good quality yet affordable Indonesian(! not Malaysian !) food is hard in Sydney. But of course, in Indonesia itself, anywhere you go, you're pretty much guaranteed a good plate of satay, gulai (curry) and fried whatnots. There's nothing pretensious about the dishes they serve here. The presentation of the food is nice, the place a haven compared to tented outdoor 'warung' or street vendors 'kaki lima' but the food is as authentic as it can get and super affordable still! The tahu telur- egg tofu is amazing and I'll come here again and again to keep trying out their extensive menu.
